Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Biola’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) service allows employees with Biola-owned computers to remotely use services (like eFiles, WebDev, Web Helpdesk, Citrix, etc.) that would otherwise be unavailable from off-campus. Biola VPN access requires a Biola-owned computer with the Cisco VPN client installed. All staff and faculty are eligible to use this service once they register and accept the user agreement below.

VPN Service Agreement

This Agreement is a contract between you and Biola University and applies to your use of the University’s virtual private network (VPN) service. You must read, agree with and accept all of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement in order to use the service, and those who do not are subject to VPN account termination and possible disciplinary action.

The purpose of the Biola VPN service is to provide a means for employees off campus to access resources (such as eFiles, WebDev, Web Helpdesk, Citrix, etc.) only available on the internal Biola network. The VPN service is managed by Network Services and use of this service must comply with the Network Usage Policy. To be eligible for the VPN service you must be a Biola employee using a Biola-owned computer. The VPN service is not to be used on employee-owned personal computers. Biola students are not permitted to use this service.

Once activated, your VPN account is for your sole use and you must keep your account password a secret. All resources made available to you through VPN User Registration, including software and configuration information, is for your use only and is not to be shared with anyone. Access given to you through your VPN account is non-transferable and you are responsible for all communications performed using your VPN account. If you learn of any security breach related to the service or your account, you must notify Network Services immediately.
