Employees (efiles)

Connecting to efiles via Windows:

  1. Right-click on My Computer - the icon should be either on your desktop or under your Start Menu
  2. Select “Map Network Drive” from the menu that pops up
  3. In the “Map Network Drive” window:
    1. Leave the “Drive” field alone
    2. Under “Folder” type in: \\efiles.biola.edu\[folder]”, where [folder] is the name of the folder on efiles that you want to access. For example: \\efiles.biola.edu\software will connect to the Software sharepoint, which holds printer drivers and software installers. Note: the direction of the slashes is important!
    3. Uncheck “Reconnect at logon” if it is checked.
    4. Click on “different user name”.
    5. In the “Connect As…” window, enter your NetID under “User name” and your Portal password under “password”, then click “OK
    6. Click “Finish”
  4. The sharepoint should mount and auto-open a new window.
  5. If you receive an error message saying “The network path \\efiles.biola.edu\[folder] could not be found.” then repeat the above steps with the following exception: On step 3.1, under “Folder” type in: \\10.6.2.51\[folder].

Connecting to eFiles via OS X

  1. Select the Finder icon from the Dock (the smiley blue face, on the far left or top).
  2. From the “Go” menu at the top of the screen, select “Connect to Server”
  3. In the “Connect to Server” window:
    1. Under “Server Address” type efiles.biola.edu/[folder], where [folder] is the name of the folder on efiles that you want to access.
    2. Click Connect > For example: efiles..biola.edu/Software will connect to the Software sharepoint, which holds printer drivers and software installers. Note: folder names are CASE SENSITIVE. Make sure you use correct capitalization according to the way the folder is named on the server. (In other words, attempting to connect to efiles.biola.edu/software would not work, because the Software folder is capitalized.
  4. A new “Connect to Server” window will open asking to “Connect to the files server ‘efiles.biola.edu’”:’
    1. Under “Name” type your NetID
    2. Under “Password” type your Portal password
    3. Click “Connect”
  5. A new window will open showing the folder that you connected to. If you get a “Connection Failed” message then double check to make sure you typed the name of the server correctly, including proper capitalization for the folder name, and that you typed in your NetID and Portal password correctly.
