Vision Care Insurance Section 5.23 Dept: Human Resources Revised: March 16th, 2012

Vision care insurance is available to regular employees who work at least 30 hours per week, for at least 10 months of the year. One full-service vision plan is offered to Biola employees.

The full-service vision plan provides an annual eye examination for no copay and allows the employee to purchase either glasses or contacts every twelve months, although frames can only be purchased every 24 months.  Out-of-network benefits are available on a reimbursement-for-services basis.

For a more detailed description of benefits, a vision care insurance description sheet is available at the Human Resources office.

Vision care insurance is among the benefits offered in the Biola cafeteria plan.  An eligible employee can use cafeteria plan dollars toward the purchase of vision insurance.  The cost of the insurance and the amount of cafeteria plan dollars available will determine whether any employee contribution toward the premium is necessary.
