Pets on Campus Section 3.17 Dept: Human Resources Revised: March 30th, 2010

To many people, pets are an integral part of family life. Biola permits employees when off duty to bring pets on campus for occasional visits, so long as they are kept outside of buildings at all times (with the exception of service animals).

Employees bringing pets on campus must follow these guidelines:

  •  Dogs must be kept on a leash of no longer than six feet and must be under the control of an adult at all times. It is the responsibility of the owner to clean up after the dog. In lieu of a leash, the dog may be held or kept in an appropriate carrier.
  • Cats must be held by the owner or kept in an appropriate carrier.
  • Birds must be kept in a secure cage.
  • Other small animals must be appropriately restrained.
One exception to this policy is fish, which may be kept in personal work stations so long as the tank does not exceed 20 gallons and does not present an imposition to other employees.
