Should we buy a computer to use while at Biola?
Yes. If you can afford to buy a personal computer, it is strongly recommended that you do so. Biola University has a number of computers accessible to students in public clusters, but during peak times when major assignments are due, or toward the end of the semester, there is a great demand for them. Those who own comptuers will not only have an easier time planning their couse work, but also more opportunities to do original work in their own areas of interest. In any discipline, computer literacy is essential in today's job market.
-
What kind of computer should I buy?
Biola University does not have a single standard. A faculty member of your department can give you good advice as to which computer is generally used in your course work and field of interest, and our staff can offer you expert advice concerning the features of each system. We carry Apple Computers.

What if I can't set up my new hardware?
Purchasers can drop by the Computer Support center, located in Metzger Hall, Lower East, for assistance with how systems are configured.
